EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has completed a switch to Bayern Munich in a deal valued at over £70 million. The 24-year-old Senegalese forward will join initially on loan for £14.3m, with a mandatory £56.2m purchase clause tied to appearances. He has agreed to a five-year contract with the German champions. Jackson scored 30 goals in 81 matches for Chelsea following his £32m move from Villarreal in 2023, but recent disciplinary concerns and uncertainty under new management paved the way for his departure.
Chelsea also moved to strengthen their squad, bringing in 20-year-old Argentine midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan from Brighton worth £2m.
Elsewhere, Wolverhampton Wanderers secured the signing of Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk for £24m. The 6ft 6in striker, who scored 21 goals last season, has signed a four-year deal and is expected to partner Jorgen Strand Larsen in Bruno Lage’s attack as Wolves battle to escape relegation.
Fulham were also active, agreeing a £22m deal for Chelsea’s 19-year-old winger Tyrique George, while AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze is close to completing a medical ahead of a proposed move. George netted three goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances last season. Manager Marco Silva is hopeful the new additions can lift the struggling Cottagers, currently 18th after three matches.
Bournemouth added depth with the £13m signing of Serbian teenager Veljko Milosavljevic and secured Spain youth international Alex Jimenez on loan from AC Milan, as the club continues its rebuild after several summer departures.
Liverpool also made headlines, agreeing terms to sign England centre-back Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old defender is expected to finalise his move on a long-term deal, addressing the Reds’ defensive frailties after three early defeats. The deal adds to Liverpool’s record summer outlay, which has already exceeded £450m following signings including Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Milos Kerkez.
The transfer deadline underlined a record-spending summer across Europe, with clubs scrambling to reinforce their squads before the window shut.
