Providing an explanation as to why the December salary was not paid to his officials, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Ngunan Adingi, claims that the government’s accounts were seized following court orders.
Adingi, who informed journalists Thursday at Makurdi, lamented that the court’s order has grounded government activities, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
According to her, the order of garnishment of the government’s accounts had been obtained from various courts in Nasarawa and Abuja.

The Commissioner said, “Some aggrieved nonindigenes working in the state who were redeployed to their states in 2007 under the State Universal Basic Education Board, brought a lawsuit against the government in protest.
“Consequently, in 2008, the court in the case between Juliana Igweka and 95 others vs SUBEB and Attorney General of Benue State, stated that those affected would be re-integrated into the public service,” adding that lawyers to claimants, in turn, returned to the courts to seek monetary compensation, which was not part of the original decision.
“But when the plaintiffs were not able to convince the courts to do what they wanted in the state, they went to various courts in Nasarawa and Federal Capital Territory obtain garnishment orders on all government accounts that were served yesterday (Friday), thereby paralyzing all government operations., including payment of salaries.”
