Yorubaland On Red Alert: Aare Ona Kakanfo Urges Governors To Unite Against Escalating Threats

In a letter addressed to the South-West governors and traditional rulers, Adams urged them to deal with the spike in insecurity decisively, stating, “We must wage war against kidnapping, and the time for that fight is now.”

He highlighted recent incidents, including the shooting of three traditional rulers within four days, describing the situation as unprecedented and emphasizing the need for immediate and effective intervention.

Adams stressed the economic impact of the insecurity, noting that if people are afraid to go to farms or travel on highways, it will affect the economy of Yorubaland.

He urged the governors to act promptly to stop the spread of insecurity, comparing the situation to a “cancer” that needs urgent and decisive intervention.

As the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Adams asserted that he has the capacity and network to address the enemies of Yorubaland but emphasized the importance of obtaining permission and cooperation from the elected governors, who serve as the Chief Security Officers of their respective states.

He highlighted the coordination needed for an effective war against insecurity and offered his support to the governors, stating that within six months, insecurity could be significantly reduced across the southwest.

Adams requested an urgent meeting with the governors to discuss security in Yorubaland, proposing that the agenda should center on addressing the threat collectively. He emphasized the need for immediate action before the situation becomes unbearable.
