Gunmen suspected to be bandits, on Wednesday, stormed a military camp in Zazzaga community in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, burning down some vehicles.
A source disclosed that the bandits engaged soldiers on the ground in a gun battle that lasted two hours, adding that the assailants recorded heavy casualties.
The source, however, said the figure could not be ascertained.
It would be recalled that some bandits in February struck in Zungeru, Niger State.
The bandits attacked workers of the state transport authority and abducted some residents.
