There were speculations that the former Governor of Lagos State travelled out of the country to seek medical attention.
Tinubu, who would not be around for the signing of the pact organised by the National Peace Committee (NPC), chaired by a former military Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar will be represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Abdulsalam after a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last week said the presidential candidates will sign two accords.
The former military head of state said one of the peace pacts which will be signed on Thursday is to ensure rancour-free and a fair campaign devoid of acrimony while the other one on accepting the outcome of the result will be signed in January.
While Tinubu is away, the National Working Committee (NWC) has called for the immediate withdrawal of the presidential campaign council of the party.
The angry NWC members are not pleased with Tinubu over the composition of the list ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The controversies around the list saw the APC shift the inauguration of the council indefinitely.
The crisis in the party has seen some governors threaten to withdraw their support for Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
