IGP Appoints CSP Hundeyin as New Force Public Relations Officer

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

Eko Hot Blog reports that CSP Hundeyin brings a solid background in communication and public engagement to the position. He holds a degree in English from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He also completed training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna.

A trained communicator and public relations expert, Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

His previous roles include serving as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command, Lagos, and later for the Lagos State Police Command.

He also served in Sudan as part of Nigeria’s United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in 2020.

Within the Force Headquarters in Abuja, he previously worked as an Administrative Officer in the Public Relations Department.

While announcing the appointment, IGP Egbetokun encouraged Hundeyin to leverage his rich experience in public relations and security management to enhance the image of the Nigeria Police Force and deepen trust with the public.

“The new Force PRO is expected to build on existing foundations to further strengthen the relationship between the Police and the public,” the IGP stated.

CSP Hundeyin replaces Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed from the position.
