ANWBN Empowers Over 250 Women in Northern Nigeria with Digital Skills

The Association of Nigeria Women Business Network (ANWBN) has trained over 250 women across Northern Nigeria in digital skills. In collaboration with the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the “Digital Literacy & E-commerce Training for Women-Owned Businesses” program aims to train women entrepreneurs.

The sessions were held in key locations, including Kuje and Lugbe in Abuja, as well as Nyanya in Nasarawa State, drawing participants from across the northern region.

ANWBN National Coordinator, Otunba Gbemisola Oduntan, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to empowering women. Former Coordinator Mrs. Angela Ajala outlined the training focus on website development, digital marketing, online sales, pricing, and social media management. The initiative aims to address challenges faced by women in northern Nigeria and equip them for success.

Project Manager, Amede Olisa-Achingale, said the programme was designed to create dynamic change and open global opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The National Treasurer, Tosin Sodeinde, elaborated on the potential for financial freedom to participants, emphasising the need for women to contribute to their families’ financial stability.
