Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has been cleared of all assault allegations in a $24 million civil lawsuit after a Los Angeles jury delivered a decisive ruling on Tuesday.

The case, filed by former security guard Emani Ellis, stemmed from an alleged altercation outside a Beverly Hills office in 2018, Eko Hot Blog reports.

Ellis claimed that the rapper, who was pregnant at the time, physically attacked her, but Cardi B firmly denied the accusations while on the stand. She testified that the incident was strictly verbal, explaining that her anger arose from being filmed without her consent during a private medical appointment.

Her defense was strengthened by witness testimonies from a receptionist and a doctor who were present at the clinic and confirmed they saw no physical assault.

After less than an hour of deliberation, the jury unanimously sided with the rapper, finding her not liable for any of the alleged actions.

Outside the courthouse, a relieved Cardi B told reporters, “Even if I’m on my deathbed, I will say it never happened. I will never admit to something I did not do.”
