Former US President Joe Biden recently had surgery to remove skin cancer, his spokesperson has confirmed.

According to Eko Hot Blog, the 82-year-old underwent Mohs surgery, a common procedure used to remove cancerous skin tissue layer by layer until no traces remain.

In recent days, Biden was seen with a noticeable mark on the right side of his head, sparking public concern.

This follows a previous operation in 2023 when doctors removed a cancerous growth from his chest during a routine medical check.

More recently, in May this year, the former president was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer which has already spread to his bones.

Despite these health challenges, he has remained largely out of the public spotlight since his exit from the White House in January.

Biden, who has had several non-melanoma skin cancers treated in the past, continues to champion cancer awareness and research alongside his wife, Jill.

Their commitment to the fight against cancer deepened following the tragic loss of their son, Beau, to brain cancer in 2015.

Reflecting on his personal battle, Biden wrote on social media: “Cancer is something that touches every family.

Jill and I have come to understand that in our weakest moments, we often find our greatest strength.”
