President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed that he and the late former President Muhammadu Buhari had disagreements during the early stages of forming the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that Tinubu described Buhari as a determined individual, recounted a specific disagreement over the party’s symbol.

He shared this while hosting members of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), led by former Nasarawa State governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
“We had our differences before reaching common ground. We even argued about the party’s symbol. He wanted parliament, and I pushed for the broom. He was very headstrong,” Tinubu said.

Despite these differences, Tinubu noted that both sides eventually made compromises, which led to the successful merger of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), resulting in the registration of the APC in 2013.
