Nigerian Customs Service Collaborates With NAFDAC To Combat Fake Drugs Menace In Sokoto

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Sokoto Zonal Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has taken a significant step in the fight against counterfeit drugs by handing over 1,198 cartons of seized fake drugs to the National Agency for Foods, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Sokoto.

Comptroller Musa Omale, the Area Controller, emphasized the importance of the collaboration between the NCS and NAFDAC in addressing the menace of unregistered pharmaceutical drugs.

He highlighted the severe threat posed by counterfeit drugs to the nation’s well-being and noted that this issue is a global challenge.

While handing over the seized items at the Sokoto zonal office, Comptroller Musa Omale stated,

  • “For control, importation of Pharmaceutical Drugs through the land border is not allowed. The Service has streamlined the importation of all Pharmaceutical Drugs through designated seaports, and they are only cleared after meeting the pre-requisite documentation.”

The seized drugs include 450 cartons of Real Extra Tablet, 405 cartons of sex enhancement drugs, 148 cartons of condoms, 30 cartons of Vernos chewable drugs, and others.
