He spoke on Thursday at the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Engagement held at the Agege Local Government Secretariat Hall. This year’s theme, “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda”, he explained, was carefully chosen to underscore the benefits of governance under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

“This unique programme, which is holding across the 40 constituencies in the state, gives us a viable opportunity to render an account of our stewardship, engage with constituents, and collectively address pressing matters affecting the growth and development of our community,” Obasa said.

The Speaker said Tinubu’s administration had tackled the challenges of economic stagnation and instability through strategic reforms, including re-engineered fiscal policies and improved revenue mechanisms.

These measures, he added, had boosted investor confidence, diversified the economy, and laid the groundwork for sustainable development.

On infrastructure, Obasa pointed out that new road networks, upgraded ports, and modern public facilities were being delivered across the country, improving quality of life while strengthening Nigeria’s position as a hub for commerce and innovation.

He also highlighted agriculture as central to achieving food security and self-sufficiency, noting that investments in mechanised farming, access to financing, and expanded markets were empowering farmers and raising production levels.

On education, Obasa praised the launch of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a landmark policy that had restored hope among young people.

According to him, campuses are now more peaceful, infrastructure is improving, and the academic environment is becoming more stable, reinforcing education as a tool for empowerment and national development.
