The event, held at the Popo Oba Square, was a testament to the power of community and the selfless dedication of leaders like Olori Aribike and Iya Ewe.

Olori Aribike, the Olori Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, welcomed the children with a warm smile. She shared the inspiring story of how the tradition of Kayokayo was started by the Kabiyesi during her pilgrimage to Hajj, and how she was honoured to continue the legacy.

Iya Ewe of Epe kingdom, Modupe Lawal, who had traveled from the United Kingdom to attend the event, also addressed the children.

Her inspiring speech emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds, fostering a sense of community, and providing opportunities for children to grow and thrive.

She praised Olori Aribike for her tireless efforts in making Kayokayo a reality and encouraged the children to embrace the spirit of joy, hope, and celebration that defined the event.

The day’s activities were a perfect blend of fun, creativity, and friendly competition.

The children participated in dance competitions, showcasing their best moves and grooves, and art contests, where they unleashed their imagination and creativity.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with music, laughter, and cheers as the youngsters showcased their talents.

As the day unfolded, the excitement only grew. Winners of the various competitions were rewarded with exciting gifts and cash prizes, beaming with pride as they accepted their awards.

But the highlight of the event was yet to come – the gift-giving ceremony, where Olori Aribike and Iya Ewe distributed presents to all the children, putting huge smiles on their faces.

As the day drew to a close, the children reluctantly bid farewell to their hosts, already looking forward to next year’s Kayokayo celebration.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the impact that selfless leaders like Olori Aribike and Iya Ewe can have on the lives of young people, providing them with memories that will last a lifetime and inspiring them to become active, engaged members of their community.
