On the issue of insecurity, the former governor claimed that the current Kaduna administration is sending money and food to bandits, which he says creates a false sense of security and worsens the problem.

El-Rufai, who supported the 2023 Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, stated that his support for President Bola Tinubu does not prevent him from criticizing the administration’s “many failings.”
He described his past support as a political strategy, not a religious one. He also predicted that President Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election, stating that he does not have a clear path to victory.
Finally, el-Rufai denied a rift with his successor, Senator Uba Sani, but admitted they were not friends. He added that the allegations of mismanagement of state resources are now before the courts.
