Former First Lady Patience Jonathan has ruled out any possibility of returning to the Presidential Villa, citing the overwhelming challenges currently facing the country.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Mrs. Jonathan expressed that she values her peace and has no interest in returning to political life at that level.

“The hardship in Nigeria is too much. If God has helped you out of it, you should thank Him,” she said. “Why would anyone want to go back there? I need peace, and my peace is enough.”

Her comments come amid growing pressure on her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, to consider running in the 2027 presidential election.

Patience Jonathan: I Won’t Return to the Villa, I Need Peace

Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga recently advised Jonathan not to heed those urging him to run, referencing his loss in the 2015 election as a cautionary note.

Speculation continues to build around a potential bid by the former president, possibly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), although he has not yet made any official declaration.
