The Kano State House of Assembly has passed a N215.3 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year. This approval, which followed a request from Governor Abba Yusuf, brings the total state budget to more than N935 billion.
During the plenary session on Monday, presided over by Speaker Jibril Falgore, the Assembly passed the budget into law after a thorough discussion, Eko Hot Blog reports.

The Speaker assured the public that the legislative arm would ensure proper oversight of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to guarantee the judicious use of the new funds.
The Majority Leader of the House, Alhaji Lawan Husseini, explained how the state will use the funds. He stated that the supplementary budget would provide for the upkeep of newly established MDAs that the original budget did not cover.
He added that parts of the funds would also go toward renovating schools, developing infrastructure, and financing urban renewal projects.
