Osun State has demonstrated remarkable civic participation, recording the highest number of pre-registrations with a staggering 474,372. Lagos State followed with 355,372, and Ogun State came in a strong third with 265,399. Beyond the top three, other states also showed strong numbers.
The Federal Capital Territory registered 152,250 new voters, while Borno had 135,661, Oyo recorded 128,231, and Kaduna registered 127,852. Kogi (124,239), Kebbi (113,884), and Yobe (101,622) also surpassed the 100,000 mark.

However, the figures also highlight a concerning disparity. States like Adamawa (5,383) and Abia (1,845) reported very low numbers. The lowest figures were recorded in Enugu and Ebonyi, with 856 and 490 registrations, respectively, revealing a considerable gap in voter participation across different regions.
INEC emphasizes that the online pre-registration is just the first of a two-step process. To make their registration valid, citizens must still visit a physical center to complete their biometric data capture. This crucial second step ensures the accuracy and integrity of the voter database for upcoming elections.
The commission urges all pre-registered individuals to finalize their process to avoid disenfranchisement.
