Man Kills Brother, Hides Body in Drum

A 27-year-old man, Eze Elechi Amadi, has been arrested after allegedly murdering his 18-year-old brother, Otu Ifeanyi, and attempting to conceal the body in a drum.

Police Commissioner Adebowale Lawal said the incident occurred on 26 August 2025, around 3 PM in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area. A resident, Oluwafemi Oladipupo, noticed the drum outside his residence and alerted authorities, leading to Amadi’s arrest

During interrogation, Amadi confessed to killing his brother over a financial dispute. He alleged that the victim had unlawfully transferred ₦20,000 from his Ecobank account, prompting the violent response

The body has been taken to the mortuary, and further investigations are underway. Once concluded, the suspect will be formally charged before a court

Commissioner Lawal further revealed that Amadi was among a group of 100 suspected criminals who were recently paraded by the Ondo State Police Command in Akure. The group faces allegations spanning murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug possession, and theft across all 18 councils of the state

Lawal commended the “gallant efforts” of police officers and the crucial cooperation of residents, which led to these recent breakthroughs in crime detection and prevention. He added that the achievements reflect the dedication of the force under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun
