The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, officially inaugurated a new 1,200-capacity Bola Ahmed Tinubu Multipurpose Hall at the Abalti Military Barracks in Surulere, Lagos, on Friday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, said the military deserves the “dividends of democracy” even though they do not actively ask for them like civilians. He praised the military for its crucial role in stabilizing Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring its security.

He also conveyed a message from President Bola Tinubu, expressing the President’s gratitude for the sacrifices made by the men and women in uniform to keep the country united.

During the event, Gbajabiamila announced future plans to demolish the old bungalows in the barracks and replace them with a modern, multi-story residential building.
He highlighted his commitment to providing a more comfortable living and working environment for the military, stating that without their efforts, democracy cannot thrive.
The Vice Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Muiz Dosunmu, and the army’s Lt.-Col. Michael Toriola both commended Gbajabiamila for his dedication and vision.
