The Osun State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, has arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin known as “Bishop” after a fierce gun battle with operatives over the weekend.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Amotekun officers tracked the suspect to his hideout at Isokun, Ilesa, on Saturday around 5:59 p.m The arrest was confirmed by the Corps Commander, Adekunle Isaac Omoyele.

“Bishop,” who has been on the wanted list of several security agencies, was arrested alongside another suspect. Omoyele explained that the suspects engaged Amotekun operatives in a prolonged exchange of gunfire before the officers overpowered them using “tactical decoys and a superior strategy.”
The operation, which lasted several hours, also led to the recovery of hard drugs and assorted charms that the gang allegedly used for protection.

Commander Omoyele stated that this arrest marks a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime in Osun State. He assured residents that a manhunt has been launched for the other fleeing gang members.
The successful operation highlights Amotekun’s relentless commitment to ensuring the safety of communities and bringing criminals to justice.
