The Lagos State Environmental Task Force, also known as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), swung into action early Monday to remove illegal street traders at 2nd Rainbow Junction, inward Mile 2.

Speaking on X, Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, reiterated the government’s commitment to restoring order on major roads.

In a viral video shared by the Commissioner, enforcement officers were seen clearing traders whose activities obstructed traffic, endangered pedestrians, and littered the environment.

The Lagos State Government has intensified efforts against street trading and other environmental violations, emphasizing that the measures are crucial to protect lives, reduce congestion, and promote a cleaner city.

“Our enforcement team is currently dislodging illegal street traders constituting nuisance at 2nd Rainbow Junction, inward Mile 2. These activities obstruct traffic flow, endanger pedestrians, and litter the environment,” Wahab said.

He added that the government would not relent in its drive to ensure a sustainable urban environment.

“We remain committed to keeping our roads safe, clean, and free of all forms of environmental infractions,” the Commissioner affirmed.
