The Ondo Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster believed to lead a fake admission syndicate that targets the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC) in Wudil, Kano.

Investigations revealed that Owolade operated a WhatsApp group called “NPA RC12 Guide and Updates,” which had over 370 members. Police believe he defrauded at least 100 unsuspecting applicants. He also managed a Facebook page, “POLAC UPDATES GROUP,” to spread false information.
The Police operatives from the Cybercrime Unit acted swiftly, tracking and arresting the suspect within an hour of the report.
During the arrest, police recovered several mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards allegedly used to carry out the fraud. The suspect has already made a confessional statement and will be transferred to the Nigeria Police Academy for further investigation and prosecution.

In a statement on Saturday, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Olushola Ayanlade warned the public to disregard unofficial sources. He stressed that POLAC admission is strictly on merit and processed only through official channels, as the police work to track down other members of the fraudulent.
